This is a blueberry cider made from organic blueberries that were grown near Shimane Prefecture’s mountain range called the Sanbe Mountains.

This cider blends together the juice from blueberries and apples since it would take an incredible amount of berries to make a 100% blueberry juice cider. At first we were planning to make 180bottles of cider, but at the last minute I decided to double the blueberry flavor in every bottle.

The final product was a balanced cider that was dry enough to be able to drink with a meal, but still juicy and sweet enough to be enjoyed by its own as well.

This is the man himself Hatayama-san who grew these blueberries we used for the cider. He was generous enough to donate a lot of the blueberries we used for the cider.

I would pair this with cider with anything from a salad or something a little fatty and savory like roasted duck. I personally like to drink this cider like champagne and have it as a drink for the initial cheers.
